Just last weekend I was invited to join a free webinar organized by Sean Seah about creating a Financial Freedom Blueprint. Sean Seah is well-known as Value Investing Guru from Singapore and I was a student of his when I joined his Value Investing Course back in 2015. He also generated quite a buzz on YouTube when he was doing the ONE PUNCH MAN workout and even appeared on Men's Health magazine after transforming his body (you can check out the article here).
You can find his recorded webinar on Financial Freedom Blueprint here. His Financial Freedom Blueprint looks more like a combination of Vision Board and Action Plan all rolled into one.
-Make $100K in Stock Market
-Generate $10K per month through Course Creation
- Generate $10K income per month through Property Rental Income.
For Each of these projects, you will create individual Blueprints. Here is a sample of a Blueprint :
Goals
Set your goal here. Be specific and put a date when you plan to accomplish it.
Inspiring Visual Outcome
Make sure to include images of the end product you want to achieve. It can be a reward (gift for yourself) or something you are fighting for (picture of your family being happy).
Why?
Ask yourself why you want to achieve this goal so badly. If the emotion you are feeling for it isn't that strong, it may not be what you want and not worth your time to do.
Required Resources
Think of what resources you have to help to achieve this goal. If it is money, perhaps you can outsource some work to freelancers and pay them some money. If it is time as a resource, you need to allocate a preset time in a day (eg: 6am to 7am using time-boxing) and work on it.
Obstacles to Overcome
There are a lot of distractions in life that can become a huge obstacle to reaching your goal faster or even discourage you. They can be Time Stealers (Netflix, Video Games) or Dream Stealers (someone telling you to give up on your dream and that you are a loser). List them down and be reminded of your main goal - and all these obstacles will only hinder you towards reaching your goal.
Next 5 Action Steps
The most important part of the Blueprint. These are your action steps and must always be 5 steps. You will need to keep updating this blueprint with new steps until you have achieved your goal.
Milestones
This is where you can measure your progress. Fill in the last 2 milestones first as that will be your end goal , followed by the first 2 milestones.
You can have up to 7 Blueprints (not more) and you should always update your Blueprints (especially the Next 5 Action Steps).
I have decided to automate things a bit and created a Google Sheet. You can check it out by clicking here.
You just need to fill up the table in the "BLUEPRINT PLANNING" sheet and it will automatically update the Blueprint in a nice visualized form. I have a sample (highlighted) in blue which you can refer to.
In my google sheet, I have a few tricky steps especially when it is related to inserting the images for Inspiring Visual Outcome. If you have issues filling up the Google Sheet that I have created, I plan to create a follow-up post with a guide on how to fill it up. Will be updating it here when it is ready.
UPDATE: Guide is ready. Click here to check it out.
